David has always enjoyed helping people solve problems. Before law school he studied to be a Jesuit priest, served as a Juvenile probation officer, and negotiated labor contracts for city and county employees. As an attorney, within the bounds of any ethical constraints, he has always placed the client’s best interest and directions at the forefront. David has served his client with distinction since 1978 as is reflected in his Preeminent AV rating issued by Martindale-Hubbell reflecting the opinions of both his peers and local judiciary.
David is also committed to assisting individuals not so fortunate by providing pro-bono representation through King County Bar Association programs. David was awarded the pro-bono attorney of the year award in 2001 by the King County Bar Association and continues to serve on the evictions calendar through the Housing Justice Project on a monthly basis. He also provides assistance through the Volunteer Legal Services program.
As David’s hair turned grey and diminished in density and his clients successfully developed their businesses and estates, his practice developed more and more in Estate Planning (planning and drafting will, trusts, durable powers of attorney, health care directives and the like) and Probate (administration of decedents’ estates). He has also become adept in handling disputes and litigation related to Estates. David continues to have a business practice dealing with the formation and ongoing development of small businesses. He is adept in advising and representing individuals in all aspect of their development and growth.
David Meyer received both his B.A. and Juris Doctor degrees from Gonzaga University, and has been admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in the state of Washington since 1978. He dedicates many hours representing the less fortunate, without compensation, through the Bar Association’s Pro Bono Panels and Eastside Legal Assistance Program. He is a sought after speaker on professionally related topics, and devotes considerable time and energy to community and church activities.
